Standing Committees

 

 

 

 

1- Membership Committee
The Membership Committee consists of five (5) members, or more, if needed, nominated by the Executive Committee. One of the members must be a member of the Executive Committee. Their appointment to the Membership Committee will be for two (2) years but members may serve up to two (2) successive terms. The Executive Committee shall designate the chairman of the committee. Also this appointment is for a two (2) year term and the chairman may serve up to two (2) successive terms.

The Membership Committee shall

(1)receive the applications to ordinary members,and associate members.

 The applications will be submitted to the vote of the General Assembly once a year.

(2)The Membership Committee should be in close contact with the Governorate Delegates in order to recruit young capable members.

(3) The Membership Committee shall present an annual report to the Executive Committee for their consideration.

(4) The Membership Committee shall present an annual report at the General Assembly.

 


2-Education Committee
The Education Committee consists of five (5) members, or more if needed, nominated by the Executive Committee. One of these members must also be a member of the Executive Committee. The appointment to the Education Committee will be for a two (2) year term, but members may serve up to two (2) successive terms.
The Executive Committee shall designate the chairman of this committee. The appointment of the chairman is for a two (2) year term of office, and he may serve up to two (2) successive full terms. TheEducation committee is

(1)Responsible for the organization and supervision of educational.

(2) Teaching activities the Education Committee shall

(3)Present an annual report at the General Assembly.

 


3. Research and Development Committee
The Research and Development Committee consists of five (5) members, or more if needed, nominated by the Executive Committee. At least one of these members must be a member of the Executive Committee. The appointment is for a two (2) year term. Members may serve up to two (2) successive terms.
The Executive Committee shall designate the Chairman of the committee. The appointment of the Chairman is for a two (2) year term of office and he may serve up to two (2) successive terms.
The Research and Development Committee is responsible for the

(1)organization of clinical and experimental research activities of the society.

(2) The R & D Committee is allowed to build working groups which are headed by a member of the R & D Committee and have to be confirmed by the Executive Committee.The following working groups are assigned:-

            1-    Subacromial space     
                   and rotator cuff
            2-   Glenohumeral
            3-   Claviculo-scapular
            4-   G-H Instability
            5-   Arthroplasty
            6-   Fractures
            7-   Sports medicine
            8-   Physiotherapy
            9-   Elbow
           10-  PSI
           11-  Arthroscopy
           12-  Tumors
           13-  Pediatric group
           14-  Neuromuscular -
                  neurophysiology

The Research and Development Committee shall present an annual report at the General Assembly.

4. Financing committee

Consist of five members. At least one member of the executive committee and the treasurer must be in the committee for 2 years term and renewal is possible.

EGSSA aims to align wisely its financial resources with its strategic priorities and survive global financial crises. Before 2021, EGSSA will;
o    Implement more efficient methods for collecting annual fees
o    Discontinue canceling its annual congress in years when ICSES is organized.
o    Improve its relationship with the industry and elaborate on new platforms of interchange.
o    Diversify society’s revenues and find new funding sources. The Executive committee will reevaluate our society’s strengths from a Revenue-Generating point of view.

 


5.  Ethical Committee
The Ethical Committee consists of 5 members. The members are appointed by the General Assembly on proposition of the Executive Committee. The members are elected for one year and can be renewed for maximum a total of 6 consecutive years. At least 3 of the members are former Presidents of the society. In any matter potentially involving a member directly or a person or an institution closely related to that member, he / she will automatically withdraw from his / her functions for this matter.
The Ethical Committee serves to investigate alleged unethical conduct involving members of the society, and proposes measures for resolution and prevention to the Executive Committee. The Ethical Committee can propose measures to ascertain the highest possible ethical standards in science and care to be imposed by the EGSSA

For the first 4 years of the society the executive committee will take the function of this committee.

 


6. Website Committee
The Website Committee consists of five (5) members, or more if needed, nominated by the Executive Committee and appointed by the General Assembly. At least one of these members must be a member of the Executive Committee. The webmaster is appointed by the Executive Committee for a two (2) year term and is ex officio member of the Website Committee. He can serve up to 2 successive terms. The appointment of the Website Committee members is for a two (2) year term. Members may serve up to two (2) successive terms. The Executive Committee shall designate the chairman of this committee who is appointed for a two (2) year term and. may serve up to two (2) successive terms.
The Website Committee is responsible for the contents of the website and its EGSSA updating.
The Website Committee shall present an annual report at the General Assembly.

 


7. Arab world and Africa Support Committee
The Committee consists of five (5) members, or more if needed, nominated by the Executive Committee. The appointment is for a two (2) year term. Members may serve up to two (2) successive terms. The Executive Committee shall designate the chairman of the committee who is appointed for a two (2) year term and may serve up to two (2) successive terms.
The Committee shall support the Araband African countries in their efforts to develop shoulder and elbow surgery.
The Committee shall present an annual report at the General Assembly.

 


8. Program Committee
The Program Committee consists of the General Secretary, the President of the next congress, the Chairman of the Website Committee and four (4) ordinary members appointed by the Executive Committee and voted at the General Assembly meeting. The Program committee is responsible for:-

(1) Abstract selection.

(2)Preparation of the abstract book.

(3)scientific program.

(4)  He has toselect the reviewers of the abstract selection.

 

The appointment is for a two (2) year term. Members may serve up to one (1) term, except the President of the congress who will end his term after the congress he has organised and the General Secretary who will end step down at the end of his term. The General Secretary will be ex officio the Chairman of this committee.
The Program Committee shall present an annual report at the General Assembly.

 


9   - Health Care Delivery Committee
The Health Care Delivery Committee consists of five (5) members, or more if needed, nominated by the Executive Committee. At least one of these members must by a (1) physiotherapist or (2)a rehabilitation specialist physician. At least one of the members of the Health Care Delivery Committee must be a member of the Executive Committee. The appointment is for a two (2) year term. Members may serve up to two (2) successive terms.
The Executive Committee shall designate the Chairman of the committee. The appointment of the Chairman is for a two (2) year term of office and he may serve up to two (2) successive terms.
(1) The aim of the Health Care Delivery Committee is toestablish andpromote relations with other professionals from orthopedic and trauma surgeons involved in the care, research or education of shoulder and elbow.
(2) The Health Care Delivery Committee is responsible for theorganization of the specialty day about rehabilitation in collaboration with the Egyptian Physiotherapy Society.
(3) The Health Care Delivery Committee shall present an annual report at the General Assembly.

 


10 -  Qualification Committee
The Qualification Committee includes five (5) members, or more if needed, nominated by the Executive Committee. At least one of its members must be a member of the Executive Committee. They are appointed for 2 years and they may serve up to two (2) successive terms.
The Executive Committee shall designate the Chairman of the committee. The appointment of the Chairman is for a two (2) year term of office and he may serve up to two (2) successive terms.
(1) The Qualification Committee will work in collaboration with the International Societies of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery in order to set up a qualification process of shoulder and elbow surgeons.
(2)The Qualification Committee shall present an annual report at the General Assembly.

 


11 . Committee for Egyptian Shoulder  Registries
The Committee for Egyptian Shoulder and Elbow Registries consists of five (5) members, or more if needed, nominated by the Executive Committee. At least one of these members must be a member of the Executive Committee. The appointment is for a two (2) year term. Members may serve up to two (2) successive terms.
The Executive Committee shall designate the Chairman of the committee. The appointment of the Chairman is for a two (2) year term of office and he may serve up to two (2) successive terms.

It makes a platform for registration of operations , and logistics.

 


12 .  Junior Membership Committee
The Junior Membership Committee consists of five (5) members, or more if needed, nominated by the Executive Committee. The appointment is for a two (2) year term. Members may serve up to two (2) successive terms.
The Executive Committee shall designate the Chairman of the committee. The appointment of the Chairman is for a two (2) years term of office and he may serve up to two (2) successive terms. It consists of 5 members less than 32 years of age andamember of the Executive committee.

 


13.  Public Relation Committee

A committee of 5 members nominated by the Executive committee is responsible for the endorsement of public relations in collaboration with personal or institutions. One member at least must be member of the executive committee.
